Knit this Watch Cap
for Hubby
earlier this year.
Realized that I hadn't blogged it
when I finished my Green Thumb Mitts with the yarn
remaining from the watch cap.
The other day when I was getting out our
cool weather coats and jackets
I found the watch cap.
So here it is.
It's knit in Dream In Color Everlasting DK
that was a bonus skein from
The Loopy Ewe.
Adding this to my year's total yardage,
I've now knit 12,937 yards
or
7.38 miles so far.

Love the head!!! And the cap. Almost bought one today at HL, but decided I have enough stuffed animals to use as my models; I just have to find which box they are in!!!
ReplyDeletethis is working great for checking 'fit'
Deletethen when it comes time to block the hooded scarf I'll have a form to wet block it

Man could I of used that great looking hat today. We are in Ohio and it was cold and windy 35 MPH gust!
ReplyDeleteCripes, Patti, you're experiencing winter today when just last week we were still having wonderful weather.
DeleteToday was another great day, though cooler than usual. No where near what you had today.
Wrap up, keep warm!
warm hugs
It's so sweet of you to knit him a soft, warm hat. I'm sure it will be much appreciated when it gets cooler.
ReplyDeleteHe's such a sweet guy to knit for. He loves wearing this watch cap as much as he loves wearing all the sox I've knit for him.
DeleteHe's definitely one of the good guys.
thanks for stopping by, take care of yourself and get back on the healthy track, Ivy.
hugs
Love the yarn you used for this hat. Ron's a lucky man.
ReplyDeleteThat Dream in Color Everlasting DK is a wonderful yarn.
DeleteIt is an eight-ply, and to quote DIC:
"finely-spun plies united with a gentle twist make for the perfect marriage of softness and durability.
The fiber content, combined with our unique dyeing process
— developed especially for the Everlasting bases —
gives Everlasting DK its deep and lushly-shaded tones,
while the multi-ply texture makes for exceptionally long-wearing, heirloom quality accessories"
AND BEST OF ALL IT'S A BONUS SKEIN FROM THE LOOPY EWE ! ! !

AKA NanaMama.
ReplyDeleteGee, I hate the thoughts of cold weather. I am a summer kind of gal. The head works great. I just put one on the manniquin I hav. I painted a face, with false eyelashes, and hair on it. Looks like a flapper.
Hey, gal, I'm thinking my head should get her face on, too.
DeleteI have a friend who fits the bill to a T
All I really think just eyebrows and lips would do the trick
OMG, had not thought of eyelashes - I have a couple of pair from my doll making. What did you do about hair?
hugs
Sent you a message on Ravelry with pictures and etsy store where I got my inspiration for the head.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad used to wear them to work - fabulous! Rachael xo
ReplyDeleteI like the heels of your socks! I just finished my first pair (for myself) and have decided I don't like the heel flap on most socks, at least those I make for myself.
ReplyDeleteHey, Tina, the afterthought heel fits my heel/foot real good. I knit about 4 or 5 rounds before decreasing every other round distributing the decrease sts evenly throughout all heel sts.
Deletethanks for stopping and leaving a comment.
