You may recall
I'm participating in a
Piper's Journey Shawl knit-along
with Melissa on her blog and Rav Group
Her Blog is Single Handed Knits
Such a fun pattern to knit
and the gorgeous pink yarn just flew off my needle
so here it is:
This pink plucks at my heart strings !
It's more of a shawlette size, don't ya think?
Tucked round my neck on those dark, dank and dreary January and February afternoons,
I know will certainly perk up my winter-time doldrums.
Hubby took my photos this afternoon when we got home for a couple hours at Barnes & Noble
checking out recently published issues.
Can you believe not one magazine came home with me.
We may or may not have had time for a little something from B&N's Starbucks -
how do you spell frappucinno?
I already know how to spell Rustic Apple Tart.
Busy, busy day between using a Subway Gift Card, my haircut, B&N, photos
I've had no time to sit and knit
on my Summer Solstice Mystery Shawl
designed by Wendy D Johnson.
Wendy issued Clue #2 just before midnight last night and I'm dying to knit with beads.
So, that's exactly what I'm gonna do!
Talk with you later
stay cool,
stay dry,
and please be safe from those wildfires out West.
You are all in My Thoughts
hugs

Ah it is so pretty! I love the colors perhaps the most, it is such a cheerful little shawl. It is also definitely perfect for snuggling into during the cooler months. I could probably live in B&N if they would allow me. Wendy Johnson's patterns are always gorgeous, I cannot wait to see how this project comes out!
ReplyDeleteYou and I could hang out in the Craft book section and maybe the mystery novel section?
DeleteHubby and I were talking today regarding Wendy's style. Beautiful designs, simple stitches.

You amaze me girl. You get so much done and come with such lovely colors and patterns. Hope to see this tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteKnitting has become my PASSION, Betty. There are so many amazing designers on Rav that how can I resist????
Deletehugs
Pretty! Was the sideways edging sewn on afterwards, or picked up with the knitting row by row?
ReplyDeleteThe edging was worked with a cast on x-stitches and worked to include one stitch from the body with each return row.
DeleteThat's the feature that drew me into this project. Since I hadn't seen this technique I was intrigued. Turns out, SIMPLE, SIMPLE.
Isn't that what life's about????
HUGS
No magazine came home with you . . well you had 2 hours to read them there. Ha Ha Ha
ReplyDeleteand I spell it mocha cappuccino!!
Keep cool, Thursday looks like a killer at 107!!!!!!!!!!!
Caught ! ! !
DeleteThere might have been a couple of URLs entered into my NookColor for further reading.
And, well, I did have time to absorb the necessary highpoints of a couple a articles.
Besides, there weren't any patterns that grabbed me, Patti ! !
hmmm, cappuccino/frappuccino I'm supposing you'd tried them both, Patti.
Now then, won't a cappu or a frappu sound dee-lish come Thursday and Friday.

One day I have plans to sit with you, chat the afternoon away and just see how fast your knitting needles move! The shawl is very pretty Gerry! Hope you are cool where you are, all that heat is headed my way! Ouch!
ReplyDeleteOur temps are forecast 109 degrees F by Saturday.
DeleteWE were right at 103 yesterday, but VERY LOW humidity. Made for a pleasant day and terrific evening.
Our visit on your porch will expose my knitting speed for what it is.
Turtle-like movements is more like it. I'm a slow knitter, believe me, Tracey we'd have more fun watching your grass grow. LOL LOL

I love it! So pretty!! I can't wait to see what your Summer Solstice will look like. I am sure it will be lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nicole.
DeleteNow that Summer Solstice is being knit in KPs Bare, haven't decided if I'll be dyeing it afterwards. I'd like to see it in a sage green.
Your podcast 'Positively Knitting' http://positivelyknitting.blogspot.com/
was another great knitting visit with you and I
appreciate your inspiring thoughts.

I've had an opportunity to make a little progress on Summer Solstice Shawl. I love the stitch definition I'm seeing with KnitPicks Bare.
ReplyDeletePiper's Journey's border has a lovely sculpt texture to it. Hard not to touch and experience the raised portion. I'm just sayin'.
hugs to everyone one of you gals, you make blogging fun! ! ! ! !
