A toe-up plain vanilla sock knit in Stockinette stitch
I've added a strand of this yarn and
held it double with the sock yarn in the toe area
for re-enforcement.
Aren't they handsome looking sox?

Ronald will be styling. Turned out very nice.
ReplyDeleteI love knitting Vesper self-Striping, especially in all Stockinette.
DeleteThanks for the compliment, Betty.

Love this yarn. The stripes match perfectly. Great job. Lucky hubby.
ReplyDeleteVesper does an excellent job on these self-stiping yarn and the yarn works up really nicely.
DeleteEasy to knit with.

Awesome! What bind off do you like for your toe-up socks? All the ones I've tried have been too tight or too loose. Yours looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gail. It's just the plain bo. Knit 2, pass the first k st over the second, k another and pass over.
DeleteI do the sts loose so the cuffs do not leave a mark on the ankles. Since they are cuffs I just k all the sts rather than bo in pattern.

Excellent vanilla socks. I especially like what happens between the ankle and the heel.
ReplyDeleteWhen using this yarn I use the after thought heel and
Deleteattempt to following the stripeing pattern in sequence.

Your husband is one lucky man Gerry! Another pair of great looking socks.

DeleteHubby loves getting sox from me.

I just learned that you don't have any socks on needles at this time! I know! You have moved up to bigger and better things!
DeleteOh, but I do have some 'Wildberry' self-striping Vespers yarn that will be co in the next couple of weeks.
Deletehugs
Oh, they look great!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe - - -
Deletesince I finished three pair of sox this month
I have not one pair on the needles at the moment.
This is the very first time that has ever happened.

very very handsome socks!!! (I've been knitting socks for years and years, but only recently my husband discovered---and admitted---that they are as wonderful as I've been telling him!!! I have a TON of catching up now to fill his sock drawer as full as mine!!!!)
ReplyDeleteHubby's sock drawer has half as many pairs as I have.
DeleteHe loves 'em and I love knittin' them/
Thanx for visiting, Steph.

Gerry
Love stripey socks!I think the spur strap pattern around the ankle and heel is very clever :).
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Robyn
Believe me the yarn has to take most of the credit for this heel.
DeleteI do the afterthought heel and begin the yarn in the same color stripe as when I put the waste yarn in.
Love to have you visit and Comment,

Gerry

Goodness, it's hard to catch up with all your projects! You're a knitting ninja! Love all those socks! I think I need to finish the pair I have on my needles so I can cast on another pretty sock project now!
ReplyDeleteA couple of these sox have been on the needles for a while. Although the pink was no further than the toes - so that was a long haul to finish. The Bridge of Roses only had the ribbing left, so that was a quick finish.
DeleteI'm ready to co another stripey pair of sox FOR ME ! ! !
