Knit, Purl, Knit, Purl

Where or where shall I begin -  -  -
How 'bout these Vesper Wildberry
toe-up with AfterThought Heel.
Love these Reds, Pinks and Purple-y Lavender ! !
Am knitting each stripe of leg a separate pattern.
Nothing earthshaking, just a bit of a change-up.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Just thought I'd throw in the $ 'cause it's sooo close to Tax Day ! ! ! !
:*(

I cast on this BoneYard Shawl  yesterday afternoon.
Designed by Stephen West
I've used this pattern once before.
It was last fall for a shawl for DD#2.

The First Time Knitting With Wollmeise Yarn

Oh, I'm a fool for these colors.
The blue's so darn striking.
Popping out for all the attention.
Look at me!  Look at me!

**************

And one more for today.
My first pullover sweater

It had my full attention for an hour-and-a-half
at the doctor's office Monday so made headway.
Have not wanted to set this down for even one minute.
I've checked and re-checked measurements
still working with fingers-crossed.

I'm showing your the side vent detail.  One of the features that drew me into this venture.
I've just finished the waist decreases for the front darts and back darts and will knit for a couple of more rows before increase rows for the bust area.

Now, it's time to get back to the yarn.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Happy Meeting

Imagine our surprize last week
at the Quilt Guild monthly meeting.
It was Patti's first time at Guild.
When she was being introduced to everyone
and I heard her name
you could have knocked me over with a feather.

We have been following each others blog for a couple of years.  Even though we live in the same vicinity
we've never met face-to-face.

At the first tiny break I dashed over to say "Hi".
So great when we get to meet someone we've friended online.
I was so tickled to finally meet her.
Patti's blog is Osage Bluff Quilter

Patti, Gerry, Nancy

Well, if we aren't the happiest trio.

Patti and Nancy have been blogging friends some time also and this is their first time meeting.
Nancy's blog is ...with thread in hand
Aren't Surprizes the Best.

Another finished object that makes me smile just to look at him.
Even though he's a 'monster' he's just toooo adorable.

all about knitting.
She co-hosts with Megan aka justrunknit on Rav

I'm Waffling

Hubby and I had a Gift Card from Christmas 2010,
It was burning a hole in our pocket.

Stopped on the way home from lunch today and spent it.
Bought something frivolous.
After all it was a Christmas Gift.

What do ya think?

Yes, it is a Waffle Iron.
You're surprized, aren't ya.
But, there you go.  We splurged !

DD Debbie told me of an easy way to make
waffles.
No fuss, no muss.

A quick prep and we're ready to go.

 A quick spray.

Pop 'em on a hot iron.

Voilรก, dinner.

All it took was
buying a Waffle Iron
and
one of these .  .  .

Yep, I'm waffling.
Thanks, sweet Debbie for this wonderful recipe.

Shur'tugal

designed my Alice Yu
in her book

Smooshy
100% Merino
Cool Fire

I love this yarn
it's so smooshy.
It's a 4-ply so in spite of having no nylon for durability,
I think it'll hold up well.
The color is so very, Pink

I used the Shur'tugal pattern on the leg portion only
and because these are knit toe-up
the pattern is actually upside down.
Who Knew !!!
I get to appreciate the full effect of Alice Yu's design when I look down while walking 'round town.

All signs of Winter are gone
Forsythia and Daffodils are shockingly YELLOW !!
There are various white blossoming trees.
Some, no doubt, are Bradford Pear but have no idea what the others could be
even after living here for twenty years
I have no idea.

Could've Been Bridge of Roses

but it just wasn't destined to happen.

These sox were cast on Summer of 2011.
They've been languishing since Fall of 2011.

There were lots of complicated stitches.
At least I found them complicated.
In reality, they were complex combinations of several stitches.
For instance, there was TCTRT and TCTLT.
In other-speak it translates to:
TCTRT - two-color triple right twist
and
TCTLT - two color triple left twist
For those of you who really want to know what this means, I'll dissect.
Oh, wait a sec,
what? you really don't give a fig about this,
go ahead, just skip on the the next part.
TCTLT:
slip the nest st onto a cable needle and hold in back of work.  Work a k2tog with contrast color, leaving sts on left hand needle.  Insert right hand needle from the front between the w sts just knitted together, and knit the first sts again using the main color.  Slip both sts from the left hand needle.  Then knit one from the cable needle.

This week I decided my poor little ole brain was not going to have to go through this exercise.
I finished them off with a K2P2 ribbed cuff,
The End.
Now I have that perfect pair of grey sox that I want in my sock drawer.

:^)    :^)    :^)

Yikes! look what was added to my
Yarn Stash.

It's the  Worse Than a Zombie colorway
It's from 716knit Etsy shop.

I'll be knitting one
with this zombie yarn.

Perhaps even a
pair of sox from the remainder of the ball.

It's six-thirty in the evening and the temp is
83 degrees F !

Barely Spring

Barely Spring
and a few daffodils have appeared

We're looking forward to a string of warm days
so we don't have to drag out the sweaters or jackets.

Clear blue skies and white puffy clouds
are my dreams.

☼  ☼  ☼

My needles have been clicking and clacking.
I've finished the Honey Cowl
You do know it's a free pattern from
Madelinetosh, don't you?

Love this Malabrigo Rios yarn.
ABSOLUTELY smitten with the Azules colorway,
Great pops of luscious pulsing-purples.
Makes my heart sing.

May have to wait 'til December to get any time to wrap this lovely 'round my neck.

My Mailbox !

We'll skip the bills and all the junk mail
to get right to the GOOD STUFF
You may remember the
Stripe Study Shawl knit-a-long
hosted by

I finished the shawl
and then finished and entered a second shawl

I won two prizes by the Random Draw.
Episode 30 is where my name is drawn
TWICE ! !
Thank you, Darren.

I was able to follow the package of goodies because Aimee provided a USPS Track & Confirm Number.
I followed it's itinerary day-by-day.
Yesterday morning I saw that
the pkg was 'out for delivery'.

I was watching and watching for the mail truck.
Wouldn't ya know it.
The Mail was delivered as late as it ever been in months and month.
It wasn't 'til five-thirty yesterday afternoon that Aimee's package arrived ! ! !

Lookeee what I won !

Aimee hand-crafted these Stitch Markers.
Markers for every technique that I use knitting my shawls.
I just love these!

Aimee's created some terrific markers.
See how she's made them not to snag on even the lightest of lace weight yarn

Notice the lobster clasps on the Wrong Side and Right Side markers.
I'll be able to move them up the rows with no hassle.
Love these, thanks Aimee.

The other prize -  -  -

This just might end up as a
Stephen West Boneyard Shawl.

I KALs
almost as much as I knitting

Friday Evening

Friday nights 'round here are not too exciting
but are productive in my knitting realm.
Worked on a couple of projects.

*  *  *  *  *  *
This is Honey Cowl in Malabrigo Worsted Azules

So much fun to knit even with the larger needle.
Am lovin' the rolled edge.  Usually not a good thing when the stockinette edge curls.
Most times we begin a scarf or cowl with a ribbed bit to counteract the curling.
This time it's making a wonderfully soft edge for this cozy cowl.
Lovin' it ! ! !

Also, worked on Intagliata Henley for a while, too.
The Madelinetosh yarn so beautiful ♥ ♥ ♥
This is my first pullover and I'm here to tell you - - -I'm anxious about the project.
Big undertaking.
When I think about all the measurements to take into consideration.
~ ~  << my worried brows.

The color is wonderful to work with and
should be an easy one for me to wear.
Now, fingers crossed that it holds up to my expectations.

If not, Hey ! ! ! , it's only yarn.

Tea time ! ! ! !
must pour,
set the timer,
and wait for the brew.
Time for a cuppa Chai

See my Tea Toter with my Chai ?
It's for my purse tea bag stash.
Took just a short time to make.
Great left-over stash buster and excellent for gifting.
I was put on to this cute project by a sweet friend who saw it on The Knit Girllls podcast

^V^V^V^V^V^

All three of these patterns are wonderful, each in their own respect.
If you're a little bit interested, just follow those links I put up there for ya.
A couple of the patterns are free ! ! ! !
Let me know what you think.

btw, have you taken advantage of the
