Could've Been Bridge of Roses

but it just wasn't destined to happen.

These sox were cast on Summer of 2011.
They've been languishing since Fall of 2011.

There were lots of complicated stitches.
At least I found them complicated.
In reality, they were complex combinations of several stitches.
For instance, there was TCTRT and TCTLT.
In other-speak it translates to:
TCTRT - two-color triple right twist
and
TCTLT - two color triple left twist
For those of you who really want to know what this means, I'll dissect.
Oh, wait a sec,
what? you really don't give a fig about this,
go ahead, just skip on the the next part.
TCTLT:
slip the nest st onto a cable needle and hold in back of work.  Work a k2tog with contrast color, leaving sts on left hand needle.  Insert right hand needle from the front between the w sts just knitted together, and knit the first sts again using the main color.  Slip both sts from the left hand needle.  Then knit one from the cable needle.

This week I decided my poor little ole brain was not going to have to go through this exercise.
I finished them off with a K2P2 ribbed cuff,
The End.
Now I have that perfect pair of grey sox that I want in my sock drawer.

:^)    :^)    :^)

Yikes! look what was added to my
Yarn Stash.

It's the  Worse Than a Zombie colorway
It's from 716knit Etsy shop.

I'll be knitting one
with this zombie yarn.

Perhaps even a
pair of sox from the remainder of the ball.

It's six-thirty in the evening and the temp is
83 degrees F !

  1. Whoa! I admire your tenacity for getting as far as you did! My brain would have checked out much earlier!! For me, socks are idiot knitting, so I like them to be S.I.M.P.L.E.!!

    1. I was looking at my Rav Projects and the majority of my early sox were of CookieA design. Complicated. At least I thought so 'til I butted heads with Bridge of Roses.

  2. I am proud of you for saying "Enough is enough" and finishing them in a traditional way. Very nice looking socks you have now.

    1. Well, Anna Marie, it's only taken me six months to face the music.
I had no desire to work those stitches [but really wanted to finish the bridge 'cause it it was such a great pattern] But practicability was the stronger of the two.

  3. I read the pattern and couldn't even follow that, maybe it's just way too early! They are pretty though.

    1. I knew I could do those stitches because they were throughout the entire sock, but didn't want to deal with all those grey cells being used for that when I could wear long pants and no one would know the bridge construction was not completed. :*)

I'm attempting to keep my Yarn Stash under control by not buying 'just because it so great a color'. Trying to plan for a project and then buy.

Good Luck with that, huh ! ! !

Very little rain has fallen here. And no T-storms either. Hope we get the rain they're talking about in the next couple of days.

      Thanks for visiting, Tracey.

  4. I honestly thought I saw you wearing them!!! Must have dreamed it. They look nice even though they aren't the pattern you started with. At least you were able to modify and go on. They look great. The best part is they are finished!!!

    1. yep! ! ! you musta dreamt it

I do love having a pair of grey sox in my drawer. I think grey is just a cool color!

Didn't realize 'til I put them in the drawer that that the desire is fulfilled. Some times I must separate my knit projects from the end result. I wait until the Finished Project is a reality before I count it.

      Thanks for commenting.
