Say, "Hi!" to Gort.
a Rebecca Danger creation.
I knit him using my own hand-dyed wool.
Remember when I Kool-Aid dyed?
While he more than likely won't be hanging around any gym bag at this house,
he is wearing a loom-knit watch cap
and waiting for a new friend to come along.
I'm joining The Charminglochie in her monster kal in the month of February.
The Charminglockie, Kelley is podcasting from Aviemore, Scotland and is a gal who loves knitting monsters.

February I'll be knitting Angus, the Attic Monster.
He'll be a great mate to hang around with Gort.

The Stockineete Zombies Rav Group is doing a kal for January-February
and I've already finished my
Shalom Cardi.
It's my first 'sweater' project since the very late 60's . . . .
1960s that is.
Don't know what I was thinking when I order this bulky yarn
in the color Coal
Did I not realize that Coal picks up every little speck of lint???????
This is one pattern that I'll be knitting again
very soon.
Most certainly in a better choice of color ! ! !

Okay, so here's another sweater
but does it count since it is a toddler-sized garment ?
I don't think it can compete in the amount of yardage knit.
Anyway,
say hello to Abagail
Knit just for the heck of it.

Oh, how I love knitting shawls and shawlettes.
They've re-placed sox for the time being.
One of the patterns, well, perhaps my favorite pattern
is
This one was knit with leftovers,
and I just l♥ve the way it turned out.
Doesn't the Feather & Fan pattern look great?
It's really a great go-to shawlette to grab on the way out the door.

My fifth finish for 2012
Martina Behm designed/named this based on
Douglas Adams‘ "The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy“.
Royal Purple
Regal Magenta
Powerful Reds & Oranges

I'm thinking there will be one more finish for January.
I'm knitting
The challenge being knit any item
using a yarn with any percentage of silk.
Since I've not really knit with a yarn with a silk content
I thought I'd give it a try.
I'm knitting Stripe Study Shawl
85% Merino and 15% silk
in
Charcoal and Red.
I'll also be entering this one in the kal on
Hey, there's still time to enter
Just look at those prizes Aimee & Darren are
generously giving.

Those really must be magic needles you have there Gerry! I can not believe all the beautiful things you have completed. I think the little monster is just adorable and using your own dyed yarn must make him extra special.
ReplyDeleteMuch love to you!
Hi Gerry! I was missing you, but now I know you were knitting the whole time, instead of blogging!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love Gort! He's adorable! And everything else looks fantastic too, but that Multnomah shawl is stunning!
GORT is so cute. All of your projects are very nice, I expecially like the Shalom Cardigan.
ReplyDeleteWow Gerry, you industrious gal! You've earned that cup of Earl Grey!!! Just love everything you've made, the shawls are gorgeous, and love that little toddler number! As for Gort... he looks like a fun fellow to have around - made me smile!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo great to hear the enthusiasm in your voice, it's great trying out new things and having goals isn't it?!! Can't wait to see what you make with the silk/marino yarn.
Hugs sweetie - happy clicking!!!

... and just when do you sleep? or eat, for that matter? Amazing work, my friend. And it was incredible to see your Shalom FO as a friend of mine just suggested that I knit that same exact sweater with my newly stashed Cascade 128. Nice to know that you loved knitting it.
ReplyDeleteMust say I was surprised to see the baby cardi but it's adorable. I love your Shaolm in Coal. The new shawl from leftovers is gorgeous and the hitch hiker turned out great. Gort is cute, but you know me, I have to ask WHY?!!! You set the bar too high for the rest of us 8^)
ReplyDeleteOh you have been one busy gal!
ReplyDeleteI adore the monster...cute, cute, cute!!!
All your creations are just gorgeous girl, you do a magnificent job!
God bless ya and have a fabulous day sweetie! :o)
Oh my goodness, Gerry, what a collection of gorgeous fun projects. Gort is just too cute! The toddler dress just had to be a most fun project with the lacy skirt and colorful yarn.
ReplyDeleteI thought I left a comment, but don't see it. Anyway, too cute, too gorgeous, and too much fun!!!!! i agree with DL, you set the bar way too high, but it won't stop me from striving for it!!!
