What's cookin' . . . . .

Finally found a replacement slowcooker for the one that I broke last Christmas!

Picked up carrots, celery, mushrooms, onion, potatoes, onion soup mix, vegetable broth to go
with the first piece of meat we've bought this year.
Which was a 2.35 lb. chuck roast!

Invited DD#2 over,
popped open a can of biscuits
and had a nice family dinner.

Sox & Cowl

Add another pair to my sock drawer!

Meet Molly Weasley
a fantastic colorway
hand-dyed by Amanda of GnomeAcres
When I caught a glance of
Amanda's colors
I knew I had to have ! ! !

Her Arthur Weasley colorway
is now in the midst
of becoming a cowl.

Speaking of cowls,
how 'bout this cowl!

Can't get enough of this wonderful Saffron color from MadelineTosh yarns.

As you can see by my
KnitMeters on the sidebar
I've been a knittin' this calendar year.
I'm amazed by these totals!

Summer has gone away. .  .  .  .
Our weather is, well,
autumn-like.

Just enough of cooler temps
to have us digging out
a sweater or a hoodie.

Leaves cover the driveways,
as well as the entire yard -
both front and back,

There's been a crack or two of thunder
along with a bit of rain,

gusty winds causing mini leaf storms.

Thoughts of a nice hot cup of
- - -
well, you fill in the blank
- - -
dark roasted coffee?

a robust black tea?

or perhaps a pungent herbal tea?

spicy mulled cider in a mug?

How 'bout a
spicy pumpkin mocha topped with whipped cream
with just a sprinkle of nutmeg?

we could add a warm Apple Tart !!!

We'll be bringing out the knit hats soon,
very soon.

Enjoy our Autumn

It's been a busy time 'round here

The change in the season has been just what we needed 'round here.
The trees are colorful and the grass is a bit greener than all summer and not really growing enough to get the mower started.

Can I get you a cup of hot apple cider?
Earl Grey tea?
Italian Roast coffee?

Guess it'll be no surprize to ya
when I show you what I've been doing.

Worse Than a Zombie
is the name of this colorway

Worn them today for the first time
and my feet were toasty warm in this fifty degree F weather.
.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

I'll tell your right now,
I cast on two new pair of sox this weekend!!!!
Can't get enough of knitting dem sox.

Finished a shawl this past week.
While there are beads on the lower edge,
they can't be seen is this photo.

It's knit in a pashmina yarn.
That's
75% Merino wool
15% silk
10% cashmere

Feels decadent next to the skin,
just sayin'.

Brought in the potted plants yesterday afternoon, temp dropped to 32 degrees F overnight.
Haven't decided
whether they're in the garage for the winter or
just 'til this cold snap passes and
we have a few more nice weeks before it truly to turns cold.

Thanks for stopping by
perhaps next time
you'll have time
for hot cocoa and cookies.
