Some Color ! !

Aren't they wonderful ! ! !

Second time they've bloomed for me since I brought them home last Fall.

+ + + + + + + + + +

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend.
We did.

Had an Easter Day meal with younger daughter.
We ate out.  Are you surprized??? I think not,
you all know KP has been all but eliminated from my schedule.

Enjoyed our meal out with choice of
Ham, Roast Pork, Fried Chicken.
Quite a feast.

Daughter went home to mow her oh-so-tall lawn.

Hubby and I spent a relaxed afternoon doing
- - - - well, not much at all.

What I did do was bring out several knitting project bags with 'works-in-stalled-out-progress'.

Here's the one that got a bit of attention yesterday.

Patriotic cuffs for a pair of fingerless mitts.
They'll match these sox.
Doubt these will be worn on the 4th of July.

yikes ! ! !
just heard we have frost/freeze warnings for
early morning tomorrow and the next day.

bring out those wool sox ! ! ! ! !

hugs

    1. Just kept them damp and then a couple of weeks ago feed them some Miracle-Gro
      Keeping my fingers crossed.

It's a really interesting self-striping yarn with those star-like pops

    1. They are great houseplants and easily propagated.

Hope that 40 degree over-night temp doesn't stunt growth, Tracey.
Perhaps the ground temp will be the saving grace.

  3. Pretty flowers. Easter lunch out sounds wonderful. I cooked but it was nice too. Fingerless mitts will be ready in time for 4th of July even though you won't wear them on that holiday.

  4. Must be the season for the violets to start blooming again. I noticed a bud or two on my this morning. I was about to give up on them every blooming again. I threatened to throw them away, maybe I scared them into blooming.

    1. Some times it does take a raised fist to get them going. :*)

  5. Beautiful bloom! My Grandmother had many plants on a little in an east window. Hers were purple. I really like the bright rose color of yours.
Of course, I LOVE those patriotic cuffs!

    1. African Violets are as varied as Tulips in their color and shapes.
Would love to have one of each, Greedy, Greedy.

  6. Your African Violet is gorgeous, Gerry. My brother used to be an avid grower of them....his were so pretty, too. I, on the other hand, couldn't get one to grow for anything! :o(
And...I love those sox....such great yarn. Those will be fun to wear anytime!

    XOXO,

    Cyndi

    1. Ron and I have propagated them via the leaves and had a number of plants. However, some way or another I'd kill them off one by one.

    1. Those fingerless mitts are going to be just the ticket for the 4th but for the heat and humidity - I may pass and bring 'em out later in the year :*)

    1. Not too certain if I could live with the seasons reversed from my 'norm'. However, when we're knee deep in snow I could dream about your warm weather and green vegetation.
However, Autumn is my favorite time of year here in mid-Missouri.

    1. I'm not as far north as you all in Chicagoland but we did have frosty roofs this morning. Haven't heard how your area fared.
Time to shake the sand outta your flip-flops, gal.
