HOT ! ! !
This is exactly how hot it's been here ! !
JULY-AUGUST weather
this is in my garden
yep! my garden is this big.

I've been sitting on pins and needles since the 1st.
Waiting for the arrival of my
Knitters Brewing Company kit

It came yesterday - just 96 hours later - - - - - - -
Wendy sent it Priority Mail ! ! !
Here's the wonderful yarn
Tip Jar for the sox
Pink Lady for the Roses
Grasshopper for the stems
L♥ve the Stitch Marker to commemorate our KAL
So excited about Bridges I know they're going to be a great knit.
It wasn't long after I ripped open the pkg,
the instructions were set aside and Hubby and I set about
winding this into cakes.
Didn't take long
so grabbed my #1 circs
and began my swatch
I'm torn between the recommended #1s and
yikes ! ! ! ! a #0
My gauge is not quite on,
however,
my swatch was a back and forth stockinette
and not the round and round knitting I'll be doing.
Will probably go ahead and do the toe [since this pair is toe up]
with the #1.
Then re-check my gauge and decide whether to switch size or not.

Knitting has been my main entertainment this week.
Finished my Hang Ten
and posted to
Wendy and Kelie's Sock-aholics Rav [just click to visit Rav] group
a day before the deadline. Whopee ! ! !
I've been listening to their podcast [click] while composing this post.
I am a mulit-tasker, afterall.
stay cool

Hot here too and I am just melting! 4 1/4 hours in the garden this morning just about did me in.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see this new pair of socks! Take lots of pictures.
Warmly,
Tracey
Hey Gerry! Yep, it's really hot here, too. Been in the mid to upper 90s most of last week, and supposed to get up to 98 this coming Wednesday! Wow!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, those Bridge of Roses sox are to die for! They are absolutely gorgeous. And you just jumped right in there, didn't ya? :o) I can't wait to see as you progress on them!
Hope you're doing well. I wrote you a note a few weeks ago and just wondering if you got it?
Take care and have fun with those sox!
XOXO,
Cyndi
Can't wait to see those socks when finished!!!! Too beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteOMG, Gerry, you will have a delightful time knitting them. I am excited for you!
ReplyDeleteHot indeed...
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see those lovely socks.
Love your socks knitting...I have had 1 sock and a half knitted for a couple of years now :) Not sure if they will ever get finished as I have forgotten how I did them :)
ReplyDeleteHi, it is hot here, also. Summer is long and drawn out in Florida.
ReplyDeleteHappy knitting.

Interesting that these are toe up (so many with intricate designs are cuff down). I heard Ann Budd saying that they are easier to design for cuff down so that must be why. Anyway, these will be great. Is that main color light gray or blue? Hope you don't have to use size 0.
ReplyDeleteThese are going to be so awesome - can't wait to see them finished!
